This waxy, soft and fat-like substance is present&nbsp;in your blood as well as every cell in your body. Cholesterol helps to&nbsp;produce hormones (testosterone, estrogen and adrenaline), cell&nbsp;membranes, vitamin D (without it there will be no vitamin D) as well as&nbsp;bile acids which help your body to digest fat.<\/p>\n<p>Now, if you ingest cholesterol through eggs then your body will simply&nbsp;produce<a href=\"http:\/\/atvb.ahajournals.org\/content\/16\/10\/1222.long\" target=\"_blank\"> less cholesterol<\/a>\u2026because&nbsp;you do need a certain amount of cholesterol every day.<\/p>\n<p>Cholesterol is not some vile poison but an essential ingredient of&nbsp;life. (But I suppose the pharmaceutical industry has to uphold this&nbsp;lie, because they want the profits from all the money they make by&nbsp;selling statins)<\/p>\n<p>Now let\u2019s get back to the eggs\u2026<\/p>\n<p>The thing is doctors would tell you not to eat eggs because they&nbsp;contain more cholesterol than most other foods, but hang in there&nbsp;because as you will see eggs are super nutritious and by eating eggs <span style=\"font-style: italic;\">DOESN\u2019T&nbsp;<\/span>mean that it will raise the bad cholesterol in your blood.<\/p>\n<p>But more on that later, let\u2019s see why eggs are super&nbsp;nutritious.<\/p>\n<p>Eggs contain minerals, vitamins, good fats and quality proteins.<\/p>\n<p>One large egg will give you:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Vitamin B12<\/li>\n<li>Vitamin B2<\/li>\n<li>Vitamin A<\/li>\n<li>Vitamin B5<\/li>\n<li>Vitamin D<\/li>\n<li>Selenium<\/li>\n<li>Calcium<\/li>\n<li>Iron<\/li>\n<li>Zinc<\/li>\n<li>Manganese<\/li>\n<li>Vitamin E<\/li>\n<li>Folate<\/li>\n<li>Magnesium<\/li>\n<li>Choline<\/li>\n<li>Antioxidants \u2013 Lutein &amp; Zeaxanthin&nbsp;(especially beneficial for the retina)a of the eye<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>So there you have it eggs are indeed very nutritious.<\/p>\n<p>But let us see what happens to our cholesterol if we eat&nbsp;eggs\u2026<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline; font-weight: bold;\">1.&nbsp;Eggs&nbsp;Increase High Density Lipoprotein (HDL)<\/span><\/p>\n<p>HDL is the <a href=\"http:\/\/circ.ahajournals.org\/content\/111\/5\/e89.full\" target=\"_blank\">\u201cgood\u201d cholesterol<\/a>.&nbsp;Higher&nbsp;levels of HDL is associated with a <a href=\"http:\/\/circ.ahajournals.org\/content\/79\/1\/8.short\" target=\"_blank\">lower risk of heart disease<\/a>.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Have a look at these studies, which prove that egg consumption:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov\/pubmed\/8120521\" target=\"_blank\">Egg consumption and high-density-lipoprotein&nbsp;cholesterol.&nbsp;<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov\/pubmed\/23021013\" target=\"_blank\">Whole egg consumption improves lipoprotein&nbsp;profiles and insulin sensitivity to a greater extent than yolk-free egg&nbsp;substitute in individuals with metabolic syndrome.&nbsp;<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/jn.nutrition.org\/content\/138\/2\/272.long\" target=\"_blank\">Dietary Cholesterol from Eggs Increases&nbsp;Plasma HDL Cholesterol in Overweight Men Consuming a&nbsp;Carbohydrate-Restricted Diet&nbsp;<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Eating eggs is an awesome way to increase your HDL.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline; font-weight: bold;\">2.&nbsp;Eggs&nbsp;Change Low Density Lipoprotein (LDL)<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Now LDL is seen as the \u201cbad\u201d cholesterol.<\/p>\n<p>You get two types of LDL \u2013 sdLDL small dense particles&nbsp;(pattern B) and large LDL (pattern A).<\/p>\n<p>Pattern B is the \u201cbad\u201d one and Pattern A is the&nbsp;\u201cgood\u201d one. We want more of the larger fluffy LDL&nbsp;type and that is what consuming eggs does. <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov\/pubmed\/16340654\" target=\"_blank\">Click here<\/a>&nbsp;&amp; <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov\/pubmed\/19369056\" target=\"_blank\">here<\/a>&nbsp;to view the studies<\/p>\n<p>Now\u2026I saved the best for last:<\/p>\n<div style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">Eating Eggs = Fat Loss<\/span><\/div>\n<p>That\u2019s right \u2013 In a study 30 overweight to obese&nbsp;women had either a breakfast of eggs or bagels. The same amount of&nbsp;calories for both the eggs and bagels.&nbsp;The women who had the eggs felt satiated and ate less calories for the&nbsp;next 36 hours. <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov\/pubmed\/16373948\" target=\"_blank\">Click here<\/a> to view the&nbsp;study.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>In a similar study: <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nature.com\/ijo\/journal\/v32\/n10\/abs\/ijo2008130a.html\" target=\"_blank\">Egg breakfast enhances weight loss <\/a>which&nbsp;lasted for 8 weeks.
