Why You should NEVER Weigh Yourself

There is no doubt about it, most woman who tackle a new diet, will get up in the morning, go to the loo and jip, You guessed it…climb onto the scale. This little object will spit out a number & will determine the rest of the greater female populations mood for the day…

It’s a love hate relationship & if the number sucked – well, she will hate the scale, the diet doesn’t work, she feels depressed, & the list goes on & on…

However the next day – the love hate relationship continues, because maybe, just maybe the scale will spit out a positive number…

ENOUGH right?

That was me, the thing is a scale (weight) is a terrible indicator of what goes on in your body. It doesn’t tell You how much of the weight is muscle or fat.

For starters: fat & muscle are two totally different creatures.

Have a look at the difference in the image below:

fat-muscle

5 lbs of fat and 5 lbs of muscle weigh exactly the same, but they take up very different amounts of space in your body. 5 lbs of muscle is denser than fat & takes up less space than 5 lbs of fat. Fat – we want to get rid of so desperately, takes up much more space.

Now if we think about it – if You start a new diet, with exercise you will start building lean muscle, this will add extra weight – the scale will move up – give a higher reading-. We also burn fat with exercises & a new meal plan – however the scale will move downward slower.

Essentially the number on the scale will go up – BUT your clothes will fit the same!

Before I forget – Most people do not know this:

If you have ANY kind of inflammation in your body, heck, even a tooth infection, you will NOT LOSE WEIGHT. That is why a proper diet like the 90 Day Bikini Body Transformation Challenge will get rid of any inflammation.

You have to heal your body first before You can properly lose weight.

But wait there is more…

Right off the bat, fat cells are resilient & stubborn little creations. They absolutely do not want to give up their actual cell volume.

Let’s say after a period of two weeks of good & proper dieting, your fat cells have lost a good percentage of the actual fat content in the cell. However the fat cell replaces the lost fat with water to retain its size.

I know this totally sucks – BIG time….

This is why most people get despondent, because as a result of this treacherous behavior by your fat cells, people still:

• Weigh the same
• Look the same
• Feel the same

But in the meantime they have actually really lost some serious fat!

Mark my words, the water replacement is only temporary. This is a defence mechanism your body has, so it won’t change too rapidly. It allows the fat cell to slowly & gradually reduce its cell size.

So, simply ignore your scale for a while – be patient. Your body is changing even if the scale is driving you mad.

The best indicator of weight loss is your clothes. You will see, suddenly your favourite jeans will start slipping off.

What You should do is measure yourself & write down the numbers. Do this once every week.

Bust: Measure all the way around your bust and back on the line of your nipples.
Chest: Measure directly under your breasts, as high up as possible.
Waist: Measure at its narrowest point width-wise, usually just above the navel.
Hips: Measure around the widest part of the hipbones.
